Elisabeth Walliser, University Professor at the IAE Nice, was elected Vice-President of the Association Francophone de Comptabilité (AFC) at the Board of Directors meeting on June 25th.

At the end of her 3-year term (2021-2024), alongside Chrystelle Richard (ESSEC), she will take over the Presidency of the Association for the next 3 years (2024-2027).

Created in 1979, the "Association Francophone de Comptabilité" has more than 400 members, mainly academics and scholars, from universities and business schools, in the fields of accounting, management control, auditing and CSR.

Its mission is to :
  • 1) contribute to the development and spread of knowledge in these fields.
  • 2) create and maintain networks of national and international exchanges between people involved in teaching and carrying out research in accounting, control and auditing
  • 3) promote networking between practitioners and academics.

The annual congress is the Association's main scientific event. Structured around a key subject, it allows researchers to present and discuss their work. It is usually held in Spring.

Study days bring together researchers and specialists on a particular theme. Some are annual, such as the "journées d'actualités" (in September), or the "journées jeunes chercheurs".

Others, more specific, can be organised upon the initiative of the Board of Directors, a local section or a group of members. They can be held in France or in any other country where AFC members are likely to host them.

Two reference journals are managed by AFC members.
  • Comptabilité - Contrôle - Audit, the journal of the AFC, is the vehicle for the promotion of French accounting research. It covers the main issues in this field of study. Published three times a year, it contains scientific articles selected by a reading committee, reports on the latest doctoral dissertations and habilitations to direct research, as well as a review of books.
  • Audit Comptabilité Contrôle : Recherches Appliquées, the second journal of the AFC, available on Cairn.info  (free and open access format) , contains short scientific articles likely to be of interest to the entire French-speaking community of academics, professionals and advanced students in auditing, accounting and management control. The aim is to ensure a widespread publication and promotion of applied research work to the largest possible audience while respecting rigorous academic criteria.
